M.E. Basar (Erkan) MSc

Erkan is a PhD candidate working as part of the Communication & Media research group with a focus on artificial intelligence, computational modelling, and machine learning applications. His main interests are conversational agents, computational theory of mind, information extraction, text mining, and natural language processing.

He obtained his master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University in 2017. He has worked as an AI engineer and computational linguist at a company, namely FloodTags (2016-2020). During his work at the company, he has developed information systems that process textual data to collect critical information about natural disaster events in real-time from online (social and mainstream) media.
