My research addresses the development of social relationships from childhood to adulthood. I focus on classroom social dynamics as a key determinant of youth development, with a specific interest in physical proximity as a means to create a safe and inclusive school climate. Moreover, I study advances in peer relations methodology to reliably assess the complex social dynamics in classrooms. Finally, I examine youths’ early life experiences and their later social-emotional functioning.
