For my PhD project at the Department of Neurophysiology I am investigating the organization of networks in the mouse brain. I do this at the molecular, anatomical and functional level. On the molecular level I study gene co-expression networks in brain cells and how they depend on sensory input as well as structural difference. On the anatomical level I did a network analysis of the Allen Mouse Connectivity Atlas where I studied how ~250 areas in the mouse brain are connected. Currently I'm doing a similar analysis with a resting state fMRI dataset to create networks based on functional connectivity, and to see the organizational differences and similarities between anatomy and function.
