I am an externally funded Ph.D. candidate through the Indonesia Endowment Funds (LPDP) scholarship from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in the Department of Geography, Radboud University. I obtained a Master of Arts in Peace Studies from The Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies, University of San Diego, California, the United States, under the Fulbright Tsunami Relief Initiatives Scholarship. My Ph.D. project focuses on the experiences of stateless Rohingya refugees in Indonesia. The research approach is interdisciplinary, combining the socio-legal and geographical approaches toward understanding the enduring link between statelessness and refugeeness, in a country that is not a signatory state to both the 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol, the 1954 Convention relating to the Status of Stateless Persons and the 1961 Convention on the Reduction of Statelessness.
