Natasha started working in the sciences while serving in the United States Air Force as a laboratory technician. After her military service, she studied marine science specializing in geophysics in Eckerd College (the United States), after which she worked offshore for a consultancy firm as a geoscientist performing geophysical and hydrographic surveys. She obtained a double MSc in transnational ecosystem-based water management from the Radboud University and the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany). During her master program, she worked on deriving habitat suitability maps for native and alien freshwater mussels based on ambient abiotic conditions. Currently, she continues to do research on habitat suitability, the effects of inland navigation on ecology, plastics and sedimentary processes focusing on the longitudinal training dams pilot project of Rijkswaterstaat (The Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management) in the river Waal. Natasha is employed by the Radboud University as a junior researcher since December 2019.
