My research focuses on the movement of animals, mostly terrestrial mammals. I use GPS data from a range of species to studies how animals move in their environment, what influences their movement decisions, and what impact changes in the environment can have on the behaviour of animals.

Currently, I'm exploring to what extent we can predict movement patterns based on species traits by using step-selection methods. I'm also supervising MSc internships on the environmental drivers of home range size in African elephants and on the phylogenetic diversity of amphibians that is covered by the global protected area network.

In the future, I aim to implement trait-based movement model (tbMM) in ecosystem modelling approaches to explore the environmental consequences of changes in movement patterns across large spatial scales.
