The world we live in is a multisensory world. This means that objects within this world can be 'sensed' using different systems (e.g. sight, smell, touch). Our brain continuously obtains the redundant and synergistic sensory information from our environment across a variety of different modalities in order to create an adequate integrated percept.

In my research, I focus on eye-gaze orienting during multisensory stimulation. I'm interested in how humans integrate and locate stimuli of different modalities in a complex 'natural' environment. In order to better understand this system, my study includes both healthy participants and patients suffering from sensory impairments, neurodegenerative diseases, or psychiatric disorders.
