Non-invasive brain stimulation techniques allow for causal investigations into the neural underpinnings of human cognition, while also holding decided clinical potential. As a PhD student in Dr. Lennart Verhagen's Cognitive Neuromodulation lab, my research focuses on an exciting emergent neuromodulatory technique: transcranial ultrasonic stimulation (TUS).

With TUS, we finally have the ability to non-invasively stimulate nearly any brain structure, including subcortical structures, with unprecedented spatial focality. My research focuses on method development and neuromodulation of the motor system, in collaboration with Dr. Hanneke den Ouden's Learning and Decision Making lab.

Prior to my PhD, I obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology (Brain & Cognition) from Radboud University, followed by a research master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from University College London (UCL).
