Constantina Markou joined the Department of Economics in 2022 as a Ph.D. Candidate and Junior Lecturer. She graduated Cum Laude with an M.Sc. in Economics from Radboud University, where she specialized in economic behavior and policy. Her master’s thesis focuses on the use of well-being ("beyond GDP") statistics in policymaking. It has been awarded the Thesis Prize of the Dutch Court of Audit, as well as the GLOCAL Thesis Prize of the Institute for Management Research.
She obtained her B.Sc. in Economics (Radboud University) and her LL.B. in Law (University of Cyprus), focusing on international and EU law. Her experience includes working as a trainee lawyer, a legal researcher on EU case law, and due diligence analyst for Dutch pension funds.
Constantina's research focuses on future-oriented decision-making and its link to societal well-being outcomes. Furthermore, she teaches various Economics courses at the Bachelor's level.
