My PhD thesis is about how second language learners manage to understand reduced speech (words missing sounds of even whole syllable as they are pronounced casually. E.g., he speaks to me in French 'il me parle' is often produced as [im.parl]) and whether their comprehension of such speech can be improved through teaching.
