I am a PhD candidate working with Iris Wiegand and Joukje Oostermann on cognitive aging and cognitive reserve. My research experience focuses on the investigation of middle aged (ages 50-60), who show the first signs of risk of developing dementia, and the use of innovative technology for both better assessment and intervention methods.
In my Masters thesis I worked with VR to investigate the enhancing effect of novelty on memory. After the completion of my Masters in Neuropsychology, I worked for the University of Cambridge as a research assistant. I worked on the project ENCRYPT- a sub-study of Prevent Dementia UK- where we investigated the use of a spatial navigation task in VR for the better prediction of dementia risk in middle aged adults. Now, I aim to combine my knowledge of VR, novelty and cognitive aging to investigate the use of VR for the enhancement of cognitive reserve and prolongment of healthy aging.
