Yazhi(Calorta) Tan is an external Ph.D. at the Behavioural Science Institute. Her research interests involve eating behavior, well-being, and the influence of contextual factors. She focuses on the positive aspects, mainly how to intervene.
Currently, she is working with prof. Dr. J.M. Vink (Jacqueline), Dr. J.K. Larsen (Junilla) and Dr. S. Thijssen (Sandra) with project: Unhealthy Eating among University Students: Downregulating Automatic Processes. The project aims to investigate how physical activity, cognitive bias modification and mindfulness can be used to help young people eat more healthily.
She completed her master's degree in counseling psychology in Thailand and worked with depressed and anxious clients. Her thesis is about the relationship between perfectionism, body dissatisfaction, body comparison, and disordered eating among sexual minorities in China.
