dr. S. van Vuuren (Sanne)

Sanne van Vuuren defended her PhD thesis, a corpus study on the pragmatic development of advanced Dutch learners’ of English written production, in March 2017 and has since worked as an assistant professor at the department of English Language and Culture at Radboud University. She teaches a variety of BA and MA courses, including Comparative Pragmatics and Information Structure, Translation and Language Training for Specific Purposes. Her research interests include foreign language teaching and testing, pragmatic and information-structural development in NNS writing, and learner corpus research. She has collaborated on the compilation of the Dutch component of the Longitudinal Database of Learner English (LONGDALE), an international corpus including written data from learners with a wide variety of L1 backgrounds, and is currently involved in setting up a Dutch component of VESPA, the Varieties of English for Specific Purposes Database.
