Merel is Assistant Professor at the Methods group of Business Administration at the Nijmegen School of Management. She received her Ph.D. from the Open University the Netherlands in close cooperation with Wageningen University in 2015, with a dissertation on how to use computer models as professional learning tools. From 2014 to 2018 she did her (postdoctoral) research at the Radboud Teachers Academy.
Currently, her research focuses on the concept of agency, participatory problem solving methods and action research. A broad interest, making connections across scientific boundaries, and a strong belief in the importance of learning and environmental issues drive her research.
