My main research goal is to assess and understand the adverse effects of chemicals on the environment. To this end, I develop and apply computer models in different perspectives of ecological risk assessment, including the chemical fate (how chemicals are distributed in the environment), exposure (how chemical concentrations are related to species’ and ecosystems’ exposures), and finally effects of problematic chemicals. I am particularly interested in developing simple models based on essential principles and parameters, allowing their application to other chemicals and cases which in turn facilitating regulatory risk assessment.
