dr. L.M. Wirz (Lisa)

I am a postdoc in the Cognitive Affective Neuroscience lab of Erno Hermans. My main research interest is to investigate stress effects on cognitive functions and link this to the influence of different stress hormones on neural processes.
I will be working on a collaborative research project that investigates the effests of different stress hormones on the temporal dynamics of memory representations using pharmacological manipulations and functional neuroimaging. I am specifically interested in the time-dependent and differential roles of noradrenaline, cortisol, and endocannabinoids. In the future, I want to use the knowledge that we will gain in this project to help find ways to improve resilience against stress-related psychopathologies.
