My PhD research investigates the processing of accented speech in virtual reality (VR) environments, combining traditional behavioural measures with eye-tracking on virtual humans. The goal is to demonstrate how people's beliefs and expectations about a speaker influence their behaviours within a highly controlled environment, ultimately revealing the real-time cognitive processing of foreign and native accents.

This project is funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), as part of the HUM.AI.N-ACCENT doctoral network.
