Netherlands Code of Conduct for Scientific Practice

As a researcher, you fulfil a societal role and you must therefore carry out your research tasks correctly. As a guideline for the correct execution of research tasks, the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) has established the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Scientific Practice (only in Dutch) (pdf, 119 kB). This code‘s central concept is the proper behaviour of every academic researcher. A second core principle is transparency.

The code of conduct includes a further five principles that academic researchers must uphold individually, mutually, and socially: scrupulousness, reliability, verifiability, impartiality and independence.
