Be careful when dealing with personal data

The new EU-wide privacy law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (pdf, 1 MB), went into effect 25 May 2018. This Regulation has direct effect in the Netherlands. In addition, the Uitvoeringswet AVG [GDPR Implementation Act] also took effect on that day.
This manual (pdf, 1,9 MB) explains what the AVG means for parties that process personal data. And to what rules the data processing must adhere (only available in a Dutch version).
This EU website sets out the most important features of the GDPR.
