Central Privacy Organisation
The DPO Office is manned by Radboud University staff, including the Data Protection Officer (Ronald Sarelse) and may be reached at Privacy@ru.nl. The DPO Office receives legal support.
Data protection officer (DPO)
The DPO oversees the application of and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The DPO is the key figure in the data management system. The GDPR sets out rules governing the appointment, position and duties of the DPO.
The DPO's duties
In particular, as part of its duties in relation to overseeing compliance the DPO is required to:
* collect information to identify processing operations;
* analyse and verify compliance with processing operations;
* inform, advise and present recommendations to Radboud University and its staff.
Reporting data processing
Any processing of personal data in Radboud University must be known to the DPO. Decentralised privacy managers will therefore ensure that a registration form, which will be included in the mandatory data processing register, is completed in the case of all forms of processing.
