Students with another WO Bachelor than English Language & Culture can get access to the North American Studies Master by taking a pre-Master program, which consists of 60 ECs. In addition, students will need to demonstrate adequate English-language skills (based on a TOEFL of IELTS qualification). Students may be entitled to exemptions from certain courses based on their academic backgrounds. Both the pre-Master program and possible exemptions will be determined by the exam committee of the American Studies Department on an individual basis.

Students who have completed a HBO Bachelor in English can get access to the Master North American Studies by taking a pre-Master transitional program which consists of 60 ECs. For these students, their pre-Master program includes the writing of a BA-thesis of 10 ECs. In addition, they will need to demonstrate adequate English-language skills (based on a TOEFL of IELTS qualification). Students may be entitled to exemptions from certain courses. Both the pre-Master transitional program and possible exemptions will be determined by the exam committee of the American Studies Department on an individual basis.

Students with another HBO Bachelor than English cannot participate in the pre-Master transitional program. They need to enroll in the Bachelor English Language & Culture.
