Registering for courses and exams

Registering for courses and minors

You need to register in good time for courses and minors via the student portal. Registration is possible from 1 July onwards.

Regarding minors, please note that as well as registering for the minor, you also need to register for the separate courses within the minor. The deadlines for registering are set out below. If there are insufficient registrations, a course may be cancelled and/or the contact hours of a specific programme may be partly reduced.

Academic year 2018-2019, registration for subjects
(incl. minors and minor subjects*) in period:

Registration deadline:

Course period 1 (Sept)

8 September

Course period 2 (Nov)

9 November

Course period 3 (Feb)

8 February

Course period 4 (Apr)

12 April

* Please note: the deadlines for registering for minors and (minor) subjects in other faculties may differ.

Registering for examinations

When registering at the FFTR for a course, you will automatically be registered to take the exam at the first opportunity. If you do not wish to take the exam, then please cancel this via Osiris, at the latest seven days before the exam date.

If you only wish to register for an exam or a second opportunity, then you need to register in good time via the student portal. For all programme parts there are two opportunities to sit the exam. If you choose to only register for the second opportunity, then this will be your only opportunity.

If you wish to register for an exam or second opportunity, you must do so at least seven days before the exam date. You can only take an exam if you have registered for it.

Consequences of registering late

If you register late for a course, there is a risk that no study guide, reader or other course material will be available to you.

If you do not register for an exam or second opportunity, you will not be permitted to sit the exam. If no one registers seven days before the planned date of the (second opportunity) exam, the exam will be cancelled.
