Transition rules old versus new courses

In the specialization Medical Epigenomics some of the compulsory components have changed.

Students who started last year in this specialization and did not complete the compulsory programme then, should take note of the following:

New course Replaces
NWI-BM066A (6 EC)
Computation for Biologists
NWI-BM066 (3 EC)
Computation for Biologists
NWI-BM073 (3 EC)
Trends in Stem Cell Biology
NWI-BM047B (3 EC)
Trends in Medical Biosciences II
  • For each of the old courses, a final resit will be available. Check Osiris for the exact dates.
  • You cannot use both the new course and the course it replaces in your Master's programme, the courses are too similar.
  • If you did not take BM066 Computation for Biologists (3 ec) last year, you have to take the new 6 EC course NWI-BM066A Computation for Biologists. In that case, if you already took NWI-BM042B Trends in Medical Biosciences I (3 EC) last year, you can use that course as an elective in your Master's programme.
  • If NWI-BM042B is the only course you did not take last year, you can take a 3 EC elective instead.
