Laboratory Animal Science
Cognitive Neuroscience often involves animal experiments. If students are interested to go into that direction, they need to take the course Laboratory Animal Science (LAS, code BM024D) as early as possible, so they can work with animals in their 2nd-year research project. This course is organised by the Central Animal Laboratory (http://www.umcn.nl/cdl) few times per year and is often fully booked early on. The course is lectured in English. Note that his course is a Master's level course, so it can be taken as an elective. However, the course is not formally part of the programme. This means that overlap with the CNS programme regarding scheduling may occur. It is also important to note that the course has specific requirements before you can be allowed to take it. It is therefore important that you check (well in advance!) whether you are eligible to take the course. For the most updated information check the website of the UMC. Note that eligibility is checked by the administration of the LAS course (as it is not part of the CNS programme)
