Erasmus+ grant for teaching/training at Radboud University

Erasmus+ outside Europe

These grants are predominantly awarded to specific (research) projects between Radboud University and selected partner institutions. If you are part of a (research) project which has been awarded Erasmus+ funding, please contact the project leader for more information. If you are unsure whom to contact, send an e-mail to erasmus@io.ru.nl so we can gladly refer you.

If the above does not apply but you are still interested in the possibilities to come to Radboud University on a staff exchange, please contact your own International Office for additional information. If applicable you can then also contact erasmus@io.ru.nl for the latest information on available projects and budgets.

The Erasmus+ programme offers 2 funding possibilities:

  • Erasmus+ Staff Training
  • Erasmus+ Staff Teaching

Erasmus+ Staff Training

The aim of an Erasmus+ Staff Training is to gain knowledge or new insights from colleagues or projects in another institute of higher education. This is usually realised through specific collaborative (research) projects.

Conditions

The mobility period for the Erasmus+ Staff Training grant must be at least 5 days (excluding travel days) and is available for academic staff, administrative/supporting staff and PhD-candidates.

Next to these specific collaboration projects, we may also provide grants for:

  • Radboud University's annual International Staff Training Week in May, for administrative staff from partner universities. Radboud partner universities will receive information about the next staff week around December/January
  • Radboud Summer School which also takes place each year in summer and offers a variety of courses on different levels

For both the International Staff Training Week as the Radboud Summer School, a limited number of scholarships is available per partner institution. Please contact the International Office of your home university for more information on availability and the application procedure.

Individual staff trainings
Please note that Radboud University in principle does not organise individual staff training. This means that staff training can only be realised on personal invitation by a colleague at Radboud University, or if you, as applicant, find a host at Radboud University yourself. If you contact a potential host, please copy  erasmus@io.ru.nl and your own International Office in, so they are informed.

Erasmus+ Staff Teaching

Academic teaching staff may apply for an Erasmus+ Staff Teaching grant after they have received approval from the faculty and the Erasmus+ mobility coordinator. These exchanges are usually part of specific collaborative (research) projects.

Conditions
The mobility period for the Erasmus+ Staff Teaching grant must be at least 5 days (excluding travel days), with a minimum of 8 teaching hours per week.

As teaching staff you should be invited by a colleague, or (if funding is available and you wish to do a teaching exchange outside of a current collaborative project) find a colleague who is willing and able to host you yourself.

If you contact a potential host, please copy  erasmus@io.ru.nl and your own International Office in, so they are informed. Always include your CV and mobility/teaching plan. Also, explain you are applying for an Erasmus scholarship to cover your costs of living and travel. In case you do not know your potential host yet, be aware it may be quite difficult to organise this type of mobility.

Application forms

Grant amounts
Both Erasmus+ grants for staff consist of a lump sum for travel costs and a fixed daily allowance. Please note that you may not receive a grant for the full duration of your stay, depending on the current budget available. The total amount of your grant will be conveyed to you, after your application has been considered successful. Incoming grantees will receive their grant in the Netherlands.
