Social activities

At Radboud University throughout the year we organise social activities for our international students, international staff and PhD candidates. These events are all aimed at making you feel at home and help making your stay here an unforgettable one.

Radboud International Students (RIS) is the international student organisation which is part of the International Office and plays an important role in organising the Orientation, Culture Shock workshops and the farewell reception. Radboud International Students also have a very lively Facebook community that every international student should join!

Study associations

There is much more to life in Nijmegen than just studying. There is a wide range of student organisations and activities for you to develop yourself, relax and to make friends. These activities are organised by students, for students. Discover what kind of student organisation or club suits you best. You can contact the student organisations directly, or meet them during the Orientation week.

Events for international staff and PhD candidates

  • General welcoming programme for new international Radboud University staff members
During the starting phase of your employment the Human Resources department organises a general welcoming meeting. We recommend that all new staff members attend this meeting. You will get an impression of the organisation, diversity, and intimacy of Radboud University. And during the programme you will get to know our academic community and campus better in an interactive way.
  • Events organised by Global Staff Services

Several other organisations are also involved in the organisation of social activities on campus. The overview we give here is therefore not complete. We have focused on those activities known to us which are generally also (partly) open to non-Dutch speaking students and staff. You will find these below.
