Erasmus + study exchange and traineeship outside Europe
The Erasmus+ programme also offers possibilities outside Europe. Please note that for both study exchange and traineeship these places are limited and only available at selected partners.
For this grant programme a minimum study period of 3 months and a maximum of 1 semester is applicable. By mutual agreement it is also possible to do a traineeship outside Europe for a minimum period of 2 months.
You can also visit our general Erasmus+ page for additional information and requirements.
Students who are going on study exchange to one of the selected non-EU partners with this grant programme, will receive:
- a monthly allowance €700
- a one-off reimbursement of travel expenses depending on destination, varying from €275 to €1500
Please note that this grant can not be combined with a Holland Scholarship, faculty grant or Individual Travel grant.
Destinations and information
Are you interested in a study exchange period or traineeship with an Erasmus+ grant at such a partner institution outside Europe? Then please contact your faculty International Office for information about possibilities, availability and your application for this grant. Important note: the general application deadline is 1 February. But some faculties apply earlier deadlines! Therefore also inquire about exact deadlines at your own faculty International Office.
Please note that the chances of obtaining an Erasmus+ grant for an exchange outside Europe are slim, as places are limited and only available for selected partners. As such, you are more likely to receive an Individual Travel Grant (ITG) or a Holland Scholarship Grant (HSG) for destinations outside Europe.
