Erasmus+ Top-Up for study exchange and traineeship
At Radboud University we believe that an international exchange should be accessible to every student. Therefore, we offer the Erasmus+ Inclusion top-up to students who need some extra financial support for a study exchange or traineeship due to specific circumstances. There is also an Erasmus+ Green Travel top-up.
The Erasmus+ top-ups are additional scholarships on top of the normal Erasmus+ scholarship. The Inclusion top-up is €250 per month, or €8.33 per day. The Green Travel top-up is a one-time bonus of €50.
Which students are eligible for the Erasmus+ Inclusion top-up?
- students with a physical or mental disability that hinders your studies or international mobility;
- students who receive a supplementary grant from DUO because they come from a family with a lower income.
Once you apply for the top-up, you must declare that you meet the requirements to receive the top-up. In case of a physical or mental disability, we ask you to provide evidence of the disability. The assessment process that follows takes place in a careful and confidential manner.
Which students are eligible for the Erasmus+ Green Travel top-up?
We believe that students who travel to their destination using a sustainable mode of transportation (with low CO2 emissions) deserve a bonus grant. You will receive a one-time payment of €50. Examples of sustainable modes of transportation are the bicycle, the bus or the train. To qualify for the top-up, you must have traveled most of the way to and from your destination country in a sustainable way.
To receive this top-up, you need to take the following steps:
- Save (if applicable) all tickets of travel and submit them (digitally) to us;
- Complete and sign the Declaration Green Travel top-up. On the form, describe how and when you traveled. You will receive this form from us via email.
Procedure and confidentiality
Do you meet the set conditions and would you like to be considered for one of the top-ups? Then you can indicate this on the scholarship application form. We will send this to you after you have been selected and nominated at your host university for a study exchange. Students who will be doing an internship abroad can apply throughout the year and indicate this on the application form at that time.
We will then need to check if you do indeed qualify for the top-up. This is done in a careful and confidential manner, taking into account your privacy.
