Dutch: very advanced plus level C1+ (evening course)

In the online Evening course Dutch: Advanced plus (C1+), you optimise your Dutch language skills. You get a better grip on the language and become even more confident using it. You also work on several points for improvement.

Target group

Non-Dutch speakers who already have a good command of Dutch (at least C1 level), but who want to improve their Dutch further.

For example, because you need Dutch for professional or study purposes. You have noticed that the bar quite is high in your workplace or during your studies when it comes to the Dutch language. You want to have even more impact and to participate fully.

What will the course bring you?

You will learn to communicate clearly and purposefully (and target group orientated) in Dutch. This covers all skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. As part of this, attention is paid to grammar, vocabulary and speaking skills. The reading and writing skills are largely prepared in individual study time.

You learn to make decisions efficiently under time constraints. You will improve the professional and/or academic impression you make when you communicate. In the process, you will gain insight into your strengths and weaknesses as a language user. You learn to take better advantage of your strengths and eliminate shortcomings based on practical feedback.

Final level: The course will help you on the way to CEFR level C2.

Active participation

This is an online training course. In the training course, you will learn from the teacher, of course, but you will learn a lot from each other too: you will give each other feedback on texts and exchange ideas on a forum. In between classes, you will also receive individual feedback from your teacher.

The course’s success depends on participants doing and submitting their portfolio assignments regularly, and actively participating. The use of the Dutch language in participants’ work and/or study environment is the course’s starting point. The learning environment also acts as a community where non-Dutch speakers help each other in terms of writing.

Intake assessment

Students who have successfully completed the C1 course with us can register for C1+ without needing to do an intake assessment. You only need to submit a cover letter. The teacher will contact you about this before the first class of the course.

Did you not take the previous course at In’to Languages?

Then you can register for this course only after you have had an intake assessment. This assessment consists of four steps:

  1. an online intake test (5 to 10 minutes) to get a first indication of your language level and to make the rest of the intake assessment more effective. Take the online intake test now.
  2. a conversation during which the wishes you have for your learning are inventoried, and we look at which course would best suit you.
  3. the writing of a cover letter. Afterwards, there is an assessment of how teachable you are, your language learning experience and your knowledge of Dutch to identify your starting level. This might require additional testing.
  4. aconversation in which the assessor's advice is explained and in which you receive more information about the content and method of the course.

Part 1, the online intake test, will be taken when you schedule your intake assessment appointment, before parts 2 to 4. Plan your assessment here.

We recommend you send the certificates you obtained before or the course material you used before as an e-mail to us so that the level assessment can proceed as efficiently as possible.

Intake assessments are carried out by telephone or on Skype.
Ensure that you have filled in your telephone number. The interviewer will contact you to discuss which medium will be used to conduct the intake interview (by telephone or on Skype).
