English C1 course – Cambridge Advanced
Are you already an advanced learner and have mastered English at the B2 level? Can you hold a complex conversation and write a detailed text fluently? Would you like to significantly increase your vocabulary and be able to communicate with more subtlety in academic and professional situations? If so, this English course for very advanced students is what you're looking for.
This course immerses you in English and you will learn to speak, write, read, and listen to English with more nuance. You will develop the language skills you need to do your job well or to succeed at university.
After this course:
- you will have a command of English at C1 level;
- you will use English flexibly and effectively in social, academic, or professional contexts;
- you will be able to understand complicated texts and identify their underlying meaning;
- you will be able to spontaneously and fluently describe ideas and plans;
- you will be able to write clear texts on complex subjects.
Cambridge exam
At the end of the course you will not only have raised your English to a higher level, but you will also be prepared for the Cambridge Advanced Exam (C1): you will know exactly what to expect during the exam and how best to tackle the assignments. You can take a Cambridge exam at one of the British Council examination centres in the Netherlands. If you pass the exam, you will receive a certificate that will enhance your CV on an international level. This certificate is recognised in almost all countries and remains valid throughout your life. You can also take this course if you do not want to take the exam. The exam costs are not included in the course fee. You can register for an exam through The British Council.

The maximum number of participants for the online course is 16 and for on-location courses 18. The language of instruction is English.

Entry requirements - the OOPT test
To determine your level, you will first have to take an online placement test (Oxford Online Placement Test, OOPT). An OOPT score of 80 or higher or a Cambridge Preliminary certificate (score c or higher) is required to enroll in the English C1 course – Cambridge Advanced.
