What do you need to participate in our courses?

The online learning environment where your course will be taught is Brightspace.
Brightspace has a ‘Virtual Classroom’, which is where our online classes are held. Participation in the online classes requires the following:

  • A PC, laptop or Mac
  • The Google Chrome browser. Make sure you have the latest version of the browser
  • A webcam
  • A headset or headphones/earphones with a microphone
  • A good internet connection

If you are taking a course in the OneRoom, where course participants participate both online and on site, you will also need to have a smartphone.

Tips

  • Click here to test your computer, webcam, headset or internet connection. Remember to give your browser permission to use your camera and microphone.
  • If you don’t have a strong Wi-Fi signal, move closer to your router or use an internet cable.
  • If you experience problems with your video, sound or connection in the Virtual Classroom, try refreshing your browser (or press the F5 key). You will then automatically return to the Virtual Classroom and you can turn your sound and camera back on.
