Placement test French

With the French placement tests on this website you can determine your French language level.

The placement tests consist of 5 texts that are becoming increasingly difficult. In these texts the last part of every second word is missing. The number of missing letters corresponds approximately to the number of letters of the first part of the word. You always have to fill in something. If you don’t know, you can put an x in the blank.

The placement test has no time limit, but you can count on about 5 minutes per text (i.e. 25 minutes in total).

Tip: It helps to read each text first.

After the last text you can click on ‘finish’. You will then see the result of the placement test.

In this test you sometimes have to enter special characters. On a mobile device this can be done simply by holding down the key of the letter. The special characters will then appear automatically.
