Julia Koltai

​​Julia Koltai is a sociologist and statistician by training, who earned her PhD in sociology in 2013. She is an associate professor at Faculty of Social Sciences, Eotvos Lorand University, and senior researcher at the Computational Social Science, Centre for Social Sciences, Hungarian Academy of Sciences Centre of Excellence.

​She has led several domestic research and regularly participates in international research projects.

​Her main research focuses are quantitative survey methodology, social network analysis and natural language processing. As her main area of expertise are the methods themselves, her research has ranged widely, from minority research through political participation to social justice and integration.

​She is author of more than 30 book chapters and papers published in international journals including Scientific Reports, EPJ Data Science, New Media and Society, Social Networks, and International Journal of Sociology.​
