Prof. Philip Leifeld

Philip Leifeld is Professor of Comparative Politics in the Department of Government at the University of Essex. He is deputy director of the Centre for Social and Economic Network Analysis (SENA) at the University of Essex.

Professor Leifeld's research tries to understand the formation of networks between political actors in the pursuit of policy goals. His work includes applications to policy networks, political debates, and legislative politics in environmental, social, and health policy. He also works with partners in the finance industry to understand and predict financial relations between firms.

Professor Leifeld's work has been published in the American Journal of Political Science and other leading political science journals, but also interdisciplinary outlets such as Physica A: Statistical Mechanics.
