Mark de Kreij
Mark de Kreij is an assistant professor in Ancient Greek and Papyrology and Research Fellow in the Anchoring Innovation programme. After his studies in Nijmegen, he moved to Heidelberg (Germany) for a PhD in ancient Greek linguistics, before moving to Oxford and focusing his research on papyrology.
In his current project, he studies how students, scholars, and artists in Roman Egypt engaged with the by then already-ancient Greek lyric poetry. More generally, he is interested in the material aspects of papyri, including ancient book production and conservation.
