Erno Hermans

Erno Hermans is Professor of Cognitive Affective Neuroscience at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour at Radboudumc. He received his PhD from Utrecht University in 2006 for a dissertation on neuroendocrine regulation of social-emotional behavior. As of 2006, he held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Donders Institute. In 2007, he received an innovational research incentives scheme grant (NWO-VENI) for a project on network connectivity changes during stress and high-resolution functional neuroimaging of subcortical structures. As part of this project he worked as a research fellow at New York University in 2010-2011. Thereafter, he moved back to the Donders Institute where he started a research group (https://cognitiveaffectiveneurosciencelab.nl) that uses functional neuroimaging in humans to study the short-term and long-term effects of stress on neurocognitive functioning. His group is funded by several grants, including an ERC Consolidator Grant (on neurofeedback training), a Horizon2020 consortium grant called DynaMORE (Dynamic Modeling of Resilience), and a NWO-VICI Talent Program grant (on boosting stress resilience).
