Prof. Giampaolo Manzolini

Prof. Giampaolo Manzolini is a full professor at at the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano. His research focusses on development of innovative technologies/models to increase the penetration of renewable energy together with the reduction of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. His research is performed through both detailed techno-economic assessment of innovative technologies and prototype development/experimental analysis. One main topic is CO2 capture technologies as Sorption Enhanced Water Gas shift reactor, Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells, Electric Swing Adsorption and Advanced Amines. The analysis is performed through detailed modelling of the innovative technologies as well as the overall conversion processes to assess the yearly energy performance and corresponding costs.
