Glasgow Refugee Asylum and Migration Network (GRAMNet)

New ways of combining research and practice

The Glasgow Refugee Asylum and Migration Network was established at the university of Glasgow in December 2009 to bring together researchers, researchers and practitioners, NGOs and policy makers undertaking research and knowledge exchange with migrant, refugee and asylum communities in Scotland and internationally.
The Network supports collaborative partnership working to generate relevant research to answer pressing questions facing migrants and those who provide them with support.
GRAMNet aims to bring the best of relevant and up to date academic research to those working on the frontline of service delivery, policy and campaigns.
This presentation will provide an overview of GRAMNet's work and development over the last 2 and a half years including some of the many projects that have emerged more recently.
More specifically we will discuss in detail a new project funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council on Matters of Law Language and Silence which brings together researchers and practitioners working on these issues from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
