Portraitgallery

The photo archive contains an estimated 800,000 photographs and reproductions. The quality of this material  varies: from original photographs of professional photographers to coloured postcards or pictures from auction catalogues. In recent years parts of this archive have been digitized  thematically. An example is the Portrait Gallery database. Currently almost 14,000 portraits from our collection have been scanned and included in the database. Descriptions are only in Dutch but some of the data, like names or dates, are accessible to non-Dutch-speakers.
