Ton van Raaij

After a career in the ICT sector, Ton van Raaij completed his MA in history in 2012 at Radboud University. After completing his MA studies he became a volunteer researcher. His research topics range from pre-modern financial systems, the rise of romantic relationships, nineteenth-century cause of death registration, and pre-modern Sri Lankan population registration. In his research work, he makes good use of long work experience in the ICT sector.
Minke Twijnstra Minke Twijnstra currently works as an emergency doctor in the Deventer Hospital. Minke became a volunteer researcher through her work for the crowdsourcing project ‘Amsterdamse doodsoorzaken 1854-1940’. In this project, she is able to combine her interests in and qualifications for medicine, data management and ICT, and genealogy. Minke serves on the Amsterdam cause of death data project as the central data manager coordinating the processing of the raw data into a fully standardised and coded dataset. She also leads the group of medical professionals working on the standardisation and coding of causes of death following the ICD10h system (a system designed to code historical causes of death).
