This project stipulates that makers deserve a more prominent voice in the literary value chain. It works towards improving connections and dismantling barriers between Dutch-language makers and the institutions that facilitate their work.

By using the methods of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu to research the actors that play a role in the distribution and material and symbolic production of this literature, this research project aims to determine the position that Young Adult literature takes within the Dutch literary polysystem.

This PhD project explores the persistent tension between classical scholarship and the democratisation of classical literature in the twentieth century, by studying the history and development of the international book series that tried to bridge this gap: the Loeb Classical Library (LCL).

This research into popular music criticism in The Netherlands aims to research how criticism is formulated in terms of content. Which evaluation domains are important, can the criticism be categorized and does the argumentation differ per period and per musical style? It looks at the reviews in five different Dutch magazines in five different time periods.

This project aims to bring together colleagues working on artistic (esp. literary) responses to the perceived demise of Postmodernism in the arts and culture more generally. Taking “glocal Metamodernisms” as its new focal point, this project will involve scholars and artists from outside the European context and organize academic meetings as well as impact events in Australia, the US and South Africa.
