One year research project funded by Instituut GAK in which we study legal issues and experience with access to (self) employment for migrants arriving in the Netherlands through three channels (humanitarian, family or economic) today and in the past (giving us the experience of second generation as well). It is a mixed method project together with sociologists & cultural studies (Lisa Berntsen, Romy Hanoeman & Ivana Kalas). In the case of refugees & economic self support through entrepreneurship we also investigated some practical projects in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Output: a book, policy blog & ‘implementation plan’, all to be presented on Migrant Day 18 December 2019.
