Thematic areas of expertise
- History and contemporary situation of Christians in the Middle East and North Africa and their migration to other parts of the world, especially to European countries (Syriacs, Assyrians, Armenians, Rum Orthodox, Copts, Ethiopians, Eritreans, Protestants, Catholics).
- Main focus is on issues related to language and literature: transmission, writing and publishing of religious and nationalist literature, language teaching and multilingualism, in home and host countries and the interaction between the various parts of transnational ethnoreligious communities
