Research interest
Current research includes the analysis of plant communities developed in the Hortus Botanicus Nijmegen since its foundation, research on new types of vegetation that are emerging on the beaches along the river Waal. A third field of interest is about flora, vegetation and ecological problems related to socio-economic developments in the interior of Portugal. In the past I obtained my PhD at this Faculty on Managing Natura 2000 in a changing world: The case of the Serra da Estrela (Portugal).

Hortus Nijmegen Foundation: preparing a new management plan. Project ‘Lista Vermelha da Flora Vascular de Portugal Continental’ (Red List Species Portugal): author or co-author, responsible for 35 red list species. Estrela Geopark Cientific Committee, UNESCO Global Geopark Network: guidance. European Vegetation Classification Committee (EVCC): updating standard phytosociological classification of European vegetation.
