Erik Verhaar
PhD Candidate
Research
Erik Verhaar started in 2017 as a PhD candidate in the sensorimotor lab. Before that, he obtained a BSc degree in Physics, Mathematics and Human Movement Sciences and a MSc degree in Sport Sciences at the University of Groningen. His research concerns sensorimotor development, in particular the development of multisensory and sensorimotor integration. At the moment, he is studying online reach control in infants as well as multisensory cue integration and causal inference in children. In his work, he uses mathematical models in combination with behavioral experiments to understand how humans obtain the ability to interact with the world in an efficient, flexible and adaptive way.
