Graduation ceremony dates

Below you find the dates of the graduation ceremonies for all programmes of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Programme abbreviations

ADS = Anthropology and Development Sociology (master)
AI = Artificial Intelligence
CW = Communication Science
CAOS = Cultural Anthropology and Developmental Sociology (bachelor)
OWW = Educational Science
PW = Pedagogical Science
RM BS = Research Master Behavioral Science
RM CNS = Research Master Cognitive Neuroscience
RM SCS = Research Master Social Cultural Science

Location addresses

Examination date

The examination date is the date you officially graduate. This date will also appear on your degree certificate. From September 1st 2019 on, the examination date will be the date of your last result, if you apply for your diploma within a month after this date. If you apply for your diploma later, your examination date will be the date you applied for your diploma.

In the tables below you find a column that says 'apply before'. This date is the deadline for sending in your application for your diploma, in order to get your diploma on the ceremony date shown in the next column. If you send in your application after this deadline, you will get your diploma at the next ceremony date.

Graduation ceremony

The dates for graduation ceremonies differ for each programme. If you would like to attend a certain ceremony, please make sure you will complete your application on an examination date at least 7 weeks before the graduation ceremony.
The exact times and locations of the ceremonies will be announced by Diploma Services by regular post about two weeks in advance. You should therefore verify that your most recent home address is listed in Osiris (you can edit this address yourself through Studielink).

Desk-ceremony
Are you unable to attend the graduation? After you have received an invitation letter from Diploma Services, you can make an appointment for a reception ceremony. You can also authorize someone to collect your diploma for you.

Sending your diploma by post?
Within the Faculty of Social Sciences it is only possible for international students (>200 km travel distance, one-way) to send your diploma by post to your home address. Ask STIP (stip@socsci.ru.nl) for the conditions and procedure.
