Migrants’ origins
The MIFARE project collects information from migrants from varying origins. The projects seeks to maximize variance in the origin countries welfare state arrangements and in socio-economic positions migrant groups take in the destination countries. Moreover, since the project aims to create opportunities to compare migrants to non-migrants in the origin countries, countries that participate in the International Social Survey Program were selected.
The map below show the 10 origin countries. Within the EU, Spain, Great-Britain, Poland and Romania were selected. The other countries are China, Japan, the Philippines, Russia, Turkey, and the US.
