RSC regulations

PART A; FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE SPORTS PROGRAMME

Participation
You need to have a valid ticket to participate in the sports programme.

Minimum age
The minimum age for participating in all activities at the RSC is 16 years.

Students
Students at Radboud University (RU) and HAN University of Applied Sciences can apply on-line for a sports card (year subscription). The same goes for RU and HAN students who graduated less than a year ago (X+1 scheme). University students from other towns, Erasmus students and alumni from RU or HAN who graduated more than a year ago, but less than two years ago (X + 2 scheme) or less than three years ago (X + 3 scheme) need to register in person at the front office. University students from other towns need to submit proof of registration. Graduates who wish to make use of the X+2 or X+3 schemes need to submit proof of graduation.
If you want to subscribe for the month subscription you have to register in person at the RSC desk. If you want to cancel your month subscription, you also have to come to the RSC desk.

Membership and Cancellation: the year subscription is valid from 1 September to 31 August and cannot be cancelled prematurely during that period.
The month subscription requires a new member to register for at least two full calendar months of the relevant academic year, running until August 31st of the relevant academic year at the latest. After this period you can cancel your subscription in person at the front office or via the form on our website on any day of the month up to the last day of the current month. The subscription ends on the last day of that month. As the RSC collects monthly at the end of the month, there will be another collection of the current month after cancellation. Former customers who re-register within 6 months after having cancelled their membership have to register for at least one full calendar month. Former customers who re-register after more than 6 months since they cancelled their membership will be regarded as new customers.

The selection of sports offered may (temporarily) be subject to restrictions due to guidelines from the government or Radboud University (such as any corona measures). These restrictions do not lead to the possibility of early termination of a subscription, nor to (partial) refund of already paid subscription fees or compensation otherwise.

Staff/Externals
Staff participating in the Company Sports programme and externals who wish to buy a Fit Card (maximum 5 days a month) or a Top Fit Card (unlimited) monthly subscription should register in person at the Front Office.

Membership and Cancellation: staff and externals who have become members of RSC for the first time must stay members for at least two full calendar months. After these two months, they can cancel their membership in person at the front office or via the form on our website on any day of the month up to the last day of the current month. Their membership ends on the last day of that month. As the RSC collects monthly at the end of the month, there will be another collection of the current month after cancellation. Former customers who re-register within 6 months after having cancelled their membership have to register for at least one full calendar month. Former customers who re-register after more than 6 months have passed since they cancelled their membership will be regarded as new customers.

The selection of sports offered may (temporarily) be subject to restrictions due to guidelines from the government or Radboud University (such as any corona measures). These restrictions do not lead to the possibility of early termination of a subscription, nor to (partial) refund of already paid subscription fees or compensation otherwise.

Single Tickets
For ‘free' sports such as fitness training, Moving to Music (BOM), sport climbing, squash and tennis, and for the cycle test, you can also buy single tickets or a multi-ticket (saves you 20% compared to buying single tickets).

As a non-member, sport climbing is only possible as a guest of a member of the RSC and on presentation of an NKBV-membership card (Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Association) with mountaineering insurance.

THE SPORTS PROGRAMME

Ticket Hours
Ticket hours are separate classes that are offered throughout the year. You can reserve tickets for these ticket hours on-line or in the computer area at RSC. The ticket can be printed out at the Front Office. Besides this ticket, you also need your sports card to be able to participate in these classes. If a customer is not able to attend the reserved class, he/she should cancel the ticket through the RSC website or at the RSC desk at least one hour in advance.

Students may reserve a maximum of two ticket hours five days in advance.
Staff and externals may reserve three ticket hours eight days in advance.

Moving to Music
Moving to Music (BOM) is an intensive workout that alternates various ways of stepping and jumping on the one hand and muscle strengthening exercises on the other. Moving to Music takes place in the sports hall, which makes it possible for a large group to participate. Members with a sports subscription must register in advance through our website, but it is also possible to participate with a single ticket or a strip card.

Penalty system
If a customer does not show up at a ticket hour without cancelling at least one hour in advance, the customer receives a warning. If a customer doesn't show up at a ticket hour a second time within 28 days without cancelling at least one hour in advance, the ability to reserve tickets is blocked for 28 days. This block can be lifted by paying a fine of € 2,00 at the RSC desk. If the fine is paid, the previous procedure starts again. The fines collected will be used for charity.

Courses and Registration
The RSC sports season is divided into four periods. Each period consists of nine or ten classes per course. Students who have a sports card can sign up for one course one week in advance on the RSC website or in the computer area. Staff and externals can sign up at the Front Office for a maximum of two courses two weeks prior to the start of a period. For customers who have a Fit Card, the courses need to be on the same day. Registration for the first period starts in June. Staff and externals can also register for later periods (2, 3 and 4). If the courses have started and there is still room for more participants, each sports card holder may register for more than one course. The registration of participants who fail to attend twice at the start of a period without cancellation will be removed. Customers can cancel through the front office ( balie-rsc-cf@ru.nl ) or via the RSC website. Customers should indicate whether they wish to cancel just once or permanently.

Free Sports
The following activities are free to those who have a student sports card, Fit Card or Top Fit Card. It is also possible to buy a single ticket or multi-ticket for these activities.

Fitness Training
The gym is for all those who wish to work out.

Tennis, Squash and swimming
Tennis, squash and swimming are ‘free' sports. Sports card holders can reserve a tennis or squash court online (up to 48 hours in advance and only one court a day per team). Customers who do not have a sports card can exclusively reserve a court on the day itself by phoning the front office. The maximum playing time for tennis is 60 minutes and for squash 45 minutes. Before a customer begins to play, he/she hands in his/her reservation voucher at the front office. If he/she still has not done so within five minutes after commencement of the playing time, the reservation will lapse and the court in question will be made available for others. In addition, the sports card of the person who made the reservation is kept until his or her fellow player has reported. Rackets can be rented; squash and tennis balls are only for sale.

Reservations for swimming can also be made up to 48 hours in advance. Not sports card holders cannot participate. The swimming time is half an hour, but there may be two reservations made. So there can be up to an hour swim. A ticket must be printed in the Erica Terpstra Sportfondsenbad, which is your admission ticket to the pool.

Reservation of Free Accommodation
Accommodation can be reserved one to eight days in advance by filling in a web form. Reservations on the day itself can only be made by phoning the front office or by personally visiting the RSC desk. Reservations are for a maximum of 60 minutes and customers may make only one reservation at a time. Before using the accommodation, each user must identify oneself with his/her sports card and those without sports card with their IDs. The sports card of the person who made the reservation is kept and can be picked up again after the training. The athletics track, climbing walls and table tennis tables do not need to be reserved: they may be used whenever available. For climbing, the groups must consist of at least two people, who should be in the possession of a sports card with climbing stamp and have taken out rock climbing insurance. Climbing walls can be used for a maximum of one half-day (four hours).

Lighting
If there are at least six people, the lights on the hockey pitch, football pitch, football/rugby pitch and the athletics track may be switched on.

Services
Subscription holders of the RSC can make use of several advise and test services for free, in support of well-being and vitality. Please have a look at our website for more details about our current selection of services.

Cancelled Sessions
Whenever a teacher is absent, we at RSC make every effort to find a temporary replacement. Unfortunately, our efforts are not always successful. Outdoor sports may, of course, be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Furthermore, the number of programmes offered on public holidays and the holiday periods are limited. If a class is cancelled, this will be posted on the RSC website and customers who registered for the class in question will receive an e-mail and text message.

Improper Use and nuisance
RSC membership is strictly personal. RSC reserves the right to impose a sanction in the case of improper use by blocking the use of that sports card for a maximum of three months. The sports card will then be reactivated after payment of an administrative charge of €25.00. RSC also reserves the right to deprive the sports rights in case of nuisance or improper behavior. If someone is not a member and sports without a valid admission ticket, personal data will be listed. If necessary, the security service is enabled. In the case of repeated violation a ban may be imposed.

Updating Personal Details
The sports card holders themselves are responsible for updating their personal details in a timely manner. This can be done or through the front office.

PART B; FOR ALL CUSTOMERS

RSC, however, may hold you liable for any damage sustained or destruction of property. If you are not insured against the possible risks of practicing sports, you are advised to take out such insurance as soon as possible.

Refreshments and glassware
Refreshments can be obtained in the Sports Café The Yard and from the candy and drinks vending machines. Glassware may only be used in the Sports Café The Yard. You are not allowed to bring alcohol and glassware in the halls, on the stands and on and around the fields.

Gym
Coats and bags are not allowed in the gym. These should be placed in the available lockers. Customers are requested to clean the gym equipment after use. Sports materials should be put back where they belong.

PR Photos
For internal and external PR purposes, RSC regularly has photos taken on its premises. These photos will not be taken without prior notice. Should you not wish to be photographed, please advise the photographer. Visitors are not allowed to take photos or videos without the permission of the staff present.

Use of Towels
The use of towels is mandatory for all fitness activities and for all activities during which mats are used.

Lost and Found
Lost and found objects are kept in two boxes near the front office at RSC. Customers who have lost something can look in these boxes to see whether their lost property is among these lost and found objects. Small valuables that have been lost and found will be kept at the rear of the front office for a week.

Pets
It is not permitted to bring pets along to the accommodation (including the pitches), guide dogs excepted.

Coats/bags
It is not allowed to take coats and bags in the gym and spinning room. For the sports hall and other rooms, we kindly request you to store coats and bags in the available lockers if there is no pressing reason not to do so. If you still believe you need to take them with you, please ensure that they are on the side.

Complaints Procedure
If you have any complaints or comments, you can fill in a suggestion form, which is available from the front office and also on our website. The complaint or comment will then be processed as soon as possible. You can also indicate on this form whether you would like to receive a response from RSC.

Lockers
Customers can use the lockers for free (€1.00 coin deposit or by scanning your RSC membership card / campus card / HANCard) to store their valuables. If you lose the key, you will be charged €20.00. A locker may only be used during the time the user is actually at the Sports Centre. The lockers are opened by RSC staff at closing time. The deposit will not be returned to people who have not collected the stored goods in time. The goods should be collected at the front office within one week from the date on which the locker was opened.

Borrowing/Renting Materials
Customers can borrow small sports materials for use at RSC. A deposit of €10.00 applies. Materials can also be rented for use elsewhere. For information on materials, prices and reservations, please contact the secretarial office on: secretariaat-rsc-cf@ru.nl.

Damage to rented rackets
Customers who rented squash, badminton or tennis rackets and return them fully broken, need to pay 25 euro at the RSC desk. If that is not possible, they get a bill including administration costs. The employee at the desk assesses the damage.

Mobile Phones
It is not permitted to make phone calls in the sports classes or the gym, except by those for whom it is essential that they can be reached at all times (e.g. people who are on call). If such customers are called, they should continue their telephone conversation outside the room.

Emergency Exits
It is not permitted to place materials, bags or other items in front of the emergency exits.

Parking
Fees apply for parking on the university premises, except after 18.00 hrs and on weekends.

Smoking
Smoking is prohibited throughout the building and grounds, including the Sports Café and the terrace.

Clothing and shoes
It is mandatory to wear appropriate sports clothing and shoes during sports activities inside and outside. Flip-flops are not allowed. Shoes with non-marking soles are mandatory for all indoor activities. Customers are requested to bring along these shoes and to put them on inside the sports centre. Shoes with studs are not permitted in the building nor on the artificial grass pitches. In the Body & Mind lessons and for specific strength exercises in the fitness room it is allowed to take off your shoes if this contributes to the execution of the exercise. Clean socks are a requirement. High heels should not be worn unprotected on the wooden floors.
