Responsibilities
You will assist with data retrieval and data analysis in our research into the scientific publication system. This covers issues such as how scientific journals and their publishers operate, tracking error and error correction in scientific publications, or the changing economy of research publishing. You will work with databases such as the bibliographic Web of Science, Dimensions or PubMed, as well as data from internet sources or company databases. You will provide technical support for a range of projects in our institute and become part of a research team and its international collaborators. You will collaborate on the team’s research publications.
What we expect from you
We are looking for an upcoming data scientist:
- Well-versed in coding, particularly Python.
- Skilled in data handling and spreadsheets.
- Skilled in data visualisation and graphs.
- Skilled or able to learn web crawling, text mining.
Notes about the conditions of employment
Salary scale 4.0: €18,90 euro gross per hour (excl. holiday allowance, holiday money, public holidays and end-of-year bonus). You are available from September-December for up to 16 hours per week. The working hours are negotiable (partly remote, but also presence for teamwork).
