Master at TCM
Students are always welcome to do their master internship at the Theory of Condensed Matter department in the framework of the Master Physics and Astronomy.
We use a combination of fundamental theory, smart approximations and often the help of computer simulations. The department offers a variety of theoretical and/or computational master projects, that are usually related to one of the topics studied in our group.
To do research in our group, you need a solid basis in statistical physics and condensed matter theory. Knowledge of computational techniques, some feeling for experiments or modern mathematics can also be very useful.
Among the electives we recommend the courses taught by members of the group:
Advanced Statistical Mechanics and Graphene taught by prof. dr. M.I. Katsnelson
Non-Equilibrium Field Theory of Condensed Matter taught by dr. M. Titov
Numerical Methods taught by dr. M. Rösner
Recent master theses can be found here.
